Who is responsible
TecWeb B.V., Madame Curiestraat 17, 2171 TW Sassenheim, the Netherlands (KvK 69862109) is the data controller for tooltiki.com. Questions about this policy: [email protected].
What we never collect
Nothing you type into a tool. Conversions, calculations and picks happen on your device; the inputs and results are never sent to a server, stored or logged, and they are never part of analytics. This is the founding rule of the site, not a setting.
What stays on your device
A few local entries in your browser: your cookie choice, language, theme, bookmarks you add, and the star rating you gave a tool. They never leave your device and you can clear them in your browser at any time.
The three things a page can send us
One — the star rating at the foot of a tool page sends the tool name, a score and a timestamp, with no identifier attached; we use it to find tools worth rebuilding and never publish it. Two — mail-this-page sends one email with the link to the address you give; the address is used for that single send and then discarded. Three — the report and suggestion forms send what you wrote, plus (for reports) the tool name, page address, browser version and screen size so we can reproduce the problem; an email address is optional and only used to reply. All three are rate-limited and protected against bots.
Analytics — only with your consent
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which tools are used, with IP anonymisation on. Google LLC processes this data on our behalf and may transfer it to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, the analytics script does not load at all — not a limited version, none. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Advertising
Google AdSense serves the ads that pay for the site. With your consent, Google may use cookies to personalise them; without it you see non-personalised, contextual ads instead — the tools work identically either way. Google is an independent controller for ad personalisation; see policies.google.com/technologies/ads for how Google uses this data and how to adjust your ad settings.
Legal bases
Analytics and ad-personalisation cookies rest on your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via Cookie settings in the footer. Handling a report, suggestion or mail-this-page request rests on our legitimate interest in running and improving the site (art. 6(1)(f)), using the minimum data needed for each.
Your rights
You can ask us for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest — write to [email protected]. Note that we usually cannot identify you: ratings carry no identifier and mail addresses are discarded after sending, so often there is nothing linkable to you to hand over or delete. You can also complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
When this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Meaningful changes are noted on the blog. We never weaken the founding rule: tool input never leaves your browser.
